Quantum Leap - Nurturing Quantum Entrepreneurs

Updated: Jul 29

The University of Glasgow leads QuantIC, the UK Quantum Technology Hub for Imaging. By fostering the development of talent essential for quantum technology adoption, QuantIC aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry. QuantIC was seeking a partner to develop a ground-breaking skills development programme.

Quantum Leap

Anchored In, in collaboration with QuantIC, the UK Quantum Technology Hub in Imaging, developed Quantum Leap, a pioneering pre-accelerator programme designed to nurture quantum entrepreneurs. Quantum Leap follows a structured delivery framework, resembling a funnel, guiding researchers through successive phases of development.

The program begins with online sessions aimed at engaging and upskilling a broad spectrum of researchers. The online phase serves as a foundation for inspiration, sparking curiosity and interest in entrepreneurship and research commercialisation among participants. As researchers progress, they participate in residential boot camps tailored to nurture those with more mature ideas and a heightened commitment to entrepreneurship. In the final phase, a select group of exceptional candidates is offered an exclusive opportunity to travel to Silicon Valley during Photonics West, engaging with the entrepreneurial cluster.

Nurturing the future

Quantum Leap has proven to be a transformative programme, addressing the identified challenges and nurturing a new generation of quantum entrepreneurs. Participants acquire essential skills in networking, communication, and entrepreneurship, enhancing their ability to translate quantum innovations into commercially viable products. Through immersive experiences and exposure to entrepreneurial ecosystems, participants are inspired, leveraging their expertise and networks for success. Overall, Quantum Leap represents a successful collaboration between Anchored In and QuantIC, driving innovation and entrepreneurship in the field of quantum technologies, and paving the way for future quantum entrepreneurs.
