About
Anchored in innovation: Championing real innovation over optics.
Anchored In emerged from Anke Lohmann's passion for translating scientific discoveries and inventions into real-world impacts. Having spent years in government and corporate roles, she saw missed opportunities for meaningful change, restricting her.

Disheartened by consultancies prioritising sales over true value, Anke founded Anchored In to champion real innovation over mere optics. To achieve her vision, she brought together an outstanding team united by shared beliefs and commitment to the company's values.

Dr Anke Lohmann
Founder / Chair
My diverse experience is an asset: spanning R&D in photonics in small and multinational companies, going on the spin-out journey, and eventually transitioning into policy development and supporting technology companies on their innovation journey. As a result, I can empathise with many perspectives, making me uniquely positioned to understand and meet the multifaceted needs of my clients. My passion is data analytics, uncovering trends and economic impacts, which I use in crafting strategies that resonate with policymakers and businesses alike – and I love designing targeted workshops to synthesise strategies and insights, guiding organisations toward informed decisions. I like bringing diverse groups of people together to bridge gaps, ideate and collaborate.
Ian Tracey
CEO
I'm driven by inspiring people and elevating companies to their full potential. My career began at BT as a research scientist, then transitioned to tech scouting. Seeking new challenges, I joined a venture-backed startup and later launched my own company. At STFC, I led the spin-out of innovative technologies as head of entrepreneurship, establishing new ventures and securing initial funding. I was elected leader of HEPTech, the CERN-founded tech transfer network, and set up the UK's CERN and ESA incubators. Involved in projects like Pitchfest and Investability, I have helped businesses and innovators explain their products around market needs, turning complex ideas into understandable insights. I excel in negotiation by striving for win-win outcomes and am frequently invited to facilitate discussions.
Dr Sara Diegoli
Quantum Programme Director
I am passionate about inspiring the next generation of researchers to bridge the gap between academia and the commercial sector, enhancing their communication efficacy and their understanding of innovation and entrepreneurship. I excel in supporting clients through the intricacies of innovation development, from supporting partnerships, exploring opportunities and supporting fundraising. What defines me at Anchored In is my ability to work with clients to craft compelling narratives, transforming technology and ideas into impactful stories. My commitment lies in propelling innovation and facilitating seamless collaboration between academia and industry.
Claudia Corduneanu
Finance Manager
I bring a solid foundation in Finance and Banking from George Bacovia University (Romania), where I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Economics, and then earned an AAT Advanced Diploma in Accountancy. This educational background has equipped me with the skills to navigate complex financial landscapes, ensuring the efficient evaluation of programs and opportunities while recognising the essential connections between technology, management, and entrepreneurship in driving business growth. I pay close attention to detail and innately understand the numerical dynamics behind strategic decisions. This allows me to analyse data quickly, identify patterns, and assess the impact of organisational or project changes. While my expertise lies in finance, my previous experience in hospitality and events has sharpened my communication and organisational skills. These roles have enhanced my client-focused approach and cultivated my ability to solve problems with agility and creativity. Recently, I have furthered my education with a course in Business Management at LSBU, while also embarking on my CIMA journey towards Chartered status. This ongoing development strengthens my analytical capabilities and my ability to support and enhance our clients' strategic decision-making processes, ensuring I contribute meaningfully to their long-term success.
